Why We Built This
When we started making breakcore, the learning resources were scattered — forum posts from 2007, YouTube videos with 300 views, or production tips buried inside Discord servers with no search function. Getting from "I want to make breakcore" to "I have a finished track" required piecing together information from dozens of sources.
Breakcore Guide exists to solve that problem. Everything you need — from setting your first BPM to understanding what Venetian Snares actually did differently — in one place, free, with no paywalls.
Who We Are
We're a small team of electronic music producers with backgrounds in breakcore, jungle and experimental club music. We've been producing in FL Studio, Ableton and Renoise for years — making music under various aliases for small labels and releasing independently on Bandcamp and SoundCloud.
We're not academics writing about music from the outside. We're producers who make this music, know what the actual challenges are, and write about what we've tested ourselves.
How We Stay Free
All content on Breakcore Guide is free to read — no subscriptions, no paywalls, no accounts required. The site is supported by display advertising (Google AdSense) and affiliate links to sample packs and plugins we actually use and recommend. When you buy through one of our links, we may earn a small commission. This never influences what we recommend — we only feature things we've tested.
Read our full Affiliate Disclosure for details.
Editorial Standards
Every plugin, sample pack and piece of gear we review has been tested by someone who produces breakcore. We don't accept payment to feature products, change review scores, or write promotional content disguised as editorial. If we wouldn't use it in our own productions, we don't recommend it.
If you spot an error, outdated information, or something we got wrong, use the contact form below — we update content when we're wrong.
